XAVIER ZIMBARDO : Hi, this is the city where I live. I love that place. Why? It is so much ALIVE!
You can meet neighbors from the whole world with so many different experiences of our planet.
Lot of people living there come from all over the world; poor people for the high majority:
economic refugees, political refugees, a lot of unemployed workers, especially among the youth, but 92 nations and all the religions including atheists living in peace, 800 associations, which means thousands of citizens involved to build social links while following and sharing their own traditions.
Well, true it is not always safe, but what is safe? And where?
Here is LIFE.
However and alas, this is what is most of time written on the web, pretending to give a sum-up of our city:

Resolved Question
"What is Sarcelles in Paris like?
Is this a nice commune to live in? Is it a wealthy, poor or average area - what social class are most residents a part of? Is it safe?

As @NeS and @Eanne said, Sarcelles is a city situated in the suburbs of Paris.
More than half of the population are immigrants. The city is called Little Jerusalem
because 1 / 3 of the population are Muslims and 1 / 3 are Jewish.
About 1 / 4 of the population are unemployed and those who have a job, earn the minimum salary.

-Sarcelles is not in Paris. It is a separate town and about 15 km from Paris. It is a new town, most of it was constructed pin the 50's-70's,
and it has a fairly high percentage of immigrants, including many Jewish people who returned to France from Algeria in the 1960's.
Religion-wise it is about 1/3 jewish and 1/3 muslim. There are some very nice areas, and others not very nice. It is fairly poor.
- Sarcelles is not in Paris, it's a town 8 miles away.
It's not known to be a nice area. A friend of mine used to live there and it's actually miles and miles of low-income apartment buildings.
It's kind of the poster town for the "banlieues" you might have heard of that.
It's poor and might not be safe at night if you're not from that neighborhood.
